Check the Gallery for most recent Updates. A few people have asked me lately why I haven’t been updating my site. Actually, I’ve been adding plenty of photos to the gallery, but I just haven’t been noting that here. Go to the gallery to see all these photos that have been added since April:

  Our New House in Midlothian
  Our Old House in Dallas
  Andrew’s 6th Grade Awards Banquet
  Myrtle Beach 2004 Golf Trip
2004 DBU Lab School Awards Ceremony

Easter Photos

Easter Photos. Since it rained and we didn’t get to have an outdoor Easter Egg hunt, there are less photos than we would have liked, but you can still tell that people got together and had some fun. Click the eggs to see the photos.

Catching up on some Photos

Catching up on some Photos. The kids had their photo taken at a studio as a Christmas gift to their Grandmothers. I had forgotten to put those shots up on the site, and when I remembered to, I also remembered that I had forgotten to put up their school photos. So here, they are. Two new photos each of Andrew and Holly, and there is also a bonus photo of them with their cousin Whitney, which was also a grandmother gift. Hold your mouse pointer over an image for a description. Click it for a larger version.

I also gathered each of the kids’ set of school photos and put them together in order on each of their respective pages. Check them out: Andrew, Holly.

Cold Valentine’s Day

Feb04-Snow.jpg (175758 bytes)Cold Valentine’s Day. I said I’d believe the forecast for snow when I saw it, so Saturday morning, I had to believe it. There wasn’t really enough for snowboarding in our area, but the kids played in it and built a small snowman. The picture to the left was taken out our back door. Click it to see a larger version.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I guess it’s too late to wish you a Merry Christmas, but I’ve only missed the new year by a few weeks. Lots of new photos have been added to the gallery. I hope you enjoy the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Oklahoma New Year’s Eve galleries.

Also this page should load quicker now, because I moved lots of stuff off to the News Archives. I’ll try to only keep one year’s worth of entries on this main page. Don’t worry. All your old favorites, like Andrew’s head injury are still available for your morbid pleasure.

Finally, I guess I can answer my most frequently asked question.

Who is Gerry Misutka?

He is left-handed golfer, long-time pal, and one of the most frequent readers and staunchest supporters of this site. Several entries on the Advice page were created just for him. At a party recently, he complained that in all of his many visits to BruceArmstrong.net, he had not once seen any reference to himself. When I looked around the room and realized that most everyone else there had indeed been on the site (even if it was something embarrassing like the Failed Float Trip), I just had to devote a headline to Gerry. And now you know… the rest of the story.

I can’t bear to get rid of it)

Wireless Network

DI-624.jpg (32256 bytes)Wireless Network. The most recent upgrade in the computer arena has been a wireless network. I went with the 802.11g D-Link Xtreme G products because of an advertised speed doubling capability called “Super-G”. Supposedly it will allow a maximum transfer rate of 108mbps as opposed to 802.11g’s standard max rate of 54mbps. By using this with the HTPC, I was finally able to get rid of an Ethernet cable that had been lying in the floor for a year and a half. I have a PCI card in my HTPC and a PC-card in my laptop. In testing without Super-G, I can take the laptop to the farthest point in the house (4 walls away) and get 48mbps. I still need to do some more testing to see if the alleged speed-doubling really does anything, but either way, I got an excellent deal at buy.com, so even if I don’t use Super-G, this system was worth it.

Holly’s 9th Birthday

Holly’s 9th Birthday. Lots of relatives came over Saturday night to celebrate Holly’s 9th Birthday. Later in the week, she had another party with her friends at a glamorous makeover place in the mall called Libby Lu’s. As usual, we’ve got web galleries with lots of photos. Click either image see the corresponding gallery.
