{"id":49,"date":"2005-04-22T23:55:27","date_gmt":"2005-04-23T05:55:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brucearmstrong.net\/wordpress\/2005\/04\/22\/built-ceiling-mount-for-projector\/"},"modified":"2009-08-07T13:29:47","modified_gmt":"2009-08-07T19:29:47","slug":"built-ceiling-mount-for-projector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brucearmstrong.net\/?p=49","title":{"rendered":"Built Ceiling Mount for Projector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Michelle insisted I get the projector off of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brucearmstrong.net\/hometheater\/Mirage-rear-speakers.jpg\">shelf it was on<\/a> before we had dozens of people going in and out of the home theater room for my birthday party, so on the night before the party, with the help of my neighbor Leigh, I got the ceiling mount done.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/brucearmstrong.net\/wp-admin\/v\/hometheater\/The_parts_used_to_make_the_ceiling_mount.jpg.html\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brucearmstrong.net\/gallery\/v\/hometheater\/The_parts_used_to_make_the_ceiling_mount.jpg.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright giThumbnail\" style=\"float: right;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brucearmstrong.net\/gallery\/d\/4657-2\/The_parts_used_to_make_the_ceiling_mount.jpg\" alt=\"The parts used to make the ceiling mount\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>There is a plexiglass plate I cut out in the shape of the projector, and it has three holes drilled in it to match the three mounting holes on the projector. The connecting 5mm bolts are\u00a0long enough that a wingnut fits above the plexiglass (but below the bolt head) and can be used to raise and lower the projector at that point (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brucearmstrong.net\/gallery\/v\/hometheater\/Close_up_of_wingnut_adjustment.jpg.html\">See closeup here<\/a>).\u00a0With these three adjustment points, I can raise and lower the front, and either side, meaning I can perfectly align the projected image\u00a0to the screen.<\/p>\n<p>The plexiglass plate is connected to a sheet of plywood using plumbing fixtures: floor flanges and a pipe.
