(For anyone not aware, Andrew has been known by his school friends as &#8220;Ace&#8221; since 3rd grade, and that has been his boomerang tourney name since <a href=\"http:\/\/brucearmstrong.net\/2003\/10\/20\/usba-national-boomerang-expo-in-houston\/\">our first outing in 2003<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/brucearmstrong.net\/gallery\/v\/boomerangs\/boomexpo2006\/boomexpo2006_1\/Ace_scores_with_a_behind_the_back_catch.jpg.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright giThumbnail\" style=\"float: right;\" src=\"http:\/\/brucearmstrong.net\/gallery\/d\/83-2\/Ace_scores_with_a_behind_the_back_catch.jpg\" alt=\"Ace scores with a behind-the-back catch\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><strong>Ace<\/strong> got 2nd place overall in the <strong>Junior Division<\/strong> (18 and under). These are his finishes in the individual events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st in Australian Round<\/li>\n<li>2nd in Fast Catch<\/li>\n<li>2nd in Endurance<\/li>\n<li>2nd in Trick Catch<\/li>\n<li>2nd in Maximum Time Aloft<\/li>\n<li>2nd in Accuracy<\/li>\n<li>2nd Overall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These same scores were tallied in the <strong>Intermediate Division<\/strong>, and <strong>Ace<\/strong> placed twice:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3rd in Australian Round<\/li>\n<li>3rd in Trick Catch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/brucearmstrong.net\/gallery\/v\/boomerangs\/boomexpo2006\/boomexpo2006_1\/Bruce_launches_one.jpg.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright giThumbnail\" style=\"float: right;\" src=\"http:\/\/brucearmstrong.net\/gallery\/d\/101-3\/Bruce_launches_one.jpg\" alt=\"Bruce launches one\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>I was also in the Intermediate Division, competing directly against Ace. As he is getting stronger and more skilled every year, this is probably the last time I&#8217;ll be able to beat him at any of these events, so I&#8217;d better enjoy it while I can. <strong>Bruce<\/strong>&#8216;s finishes in the <strong>Intermediate Division<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st in Endurance (tie)<\/li>\n<li>2nd in Australian Round<\/li>\n<li>2nd in Fast Catch<\/li>\n<li>2nd in Trick Catch<\/li>\n<li>3rd in Accuracy<\/li>\n<li>2nd Overall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Though neither of us placed in the Intermediate division for MTA, I do have to point out that Ace beat me by a couple of seconds.<\/p>\n<p>We made 3 boomerangs to enter into the <strong>Aesthetics Competition<\/strong>. Only our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brucearmstrong.net\/gallery\/v\/boomerangs\/boomexpo2006\/boomexpo2006_5\/Boomerang_Aesthetics_Contest_Entries_Expo_2006.jpg.html\">Texas Longhorn<\/a> didn&#8217;t win.
