Ace enjoyed his first non-infant plane ride (he was a baby the only other time he had flown), but the wait for our luggage was excruciatingly long. Atlanta&#8217;s airport sure wasn&#8217;t as car rental friendly as we would have liked either. We saw every other rental car company&#8217;s shuttles 3 times before we finally saw the &#8220;Budget&#8221; shuttle we were looking for. At the Budget rental counter, they were under-staffed and every person trying to rent had some complicated problem that the manager had to help out with. Once I got to the counter, my transaction took less than 5 minutes and we were finally ready to hit the road for Conyers. With all the unexpected delays, our &#8220;checked into the hotel and ready to sleep&#8221; estimate of midnight was way off. We weren&#8217;t actually in the room until almost 1:30.
