I’ve found another excellent musical artist via SNL: Corinne Bailey Rae
I’m not sure exactly how to describe her style, but there are definitely elements of Soul, Jazz, Blues, and R&B. My first thought was “kinda sounds like Nora Jones”, then I thought maybe Alicia Keys, and even India Arie or Sade. I’ll definitely be putting a mix together with all these other ladies, but right now, Corinne Bailey Rae is by far my favorite.
Corrine Bailey Rae was also on an episode of Austin City Limits in December along with K T Tunstall who is not bad either.

Do you know who Louis Prima was? I’d heard his name but never really knew anything about him until last year sometime when my wife and I caught a PBS special about him.
Remember David Lee Roth’s version of “Just A Gigilo”?…that was Prima’s.

Do a search on Youtube to catch some video. He had a singer (who was also his fourth wife) named Keely Smith who was deadpan to his outgoing comedic band….I’m lovin’ it.
