Warhol Art Maker
| Using Photoshop, I had originally made some simple, but cool pictures that reminded me of some Andy Warhol artwork. The process in Photoshop was tedious, especially for a triple, or two-by-two image with different colors. I decided it should be pretty simple to write a program in Java that would make the process much easier.
The "Warhol Art Maker" program is the result.
It wasn't as simple to write as I had planned (of course!), and its use is pretty limited, but another reason I wrote it was to learn some image processing in Java. And I definitely did that, along with lots of other Java programming particulars.

Here you can download the program for yourself, see
screenshots of
the program, view the documentation, or look at some
sample output.
Please note that this is beta software and you may experience some
problems with it. Please contact
me if you do encounter any errors or odd behavior.
Download
Beta version 0.7 is now available. Click here to download the program: Warhol.jar
It is 117KB, so it won't take long to download.
The catch is that you do have to download something else that is large before
you can use the program: The Java 2 Runtime Environment (JRE). You may already
have it installed. If not, go to http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html.to
download it.
Once you have downloaded and installed the JRE, you should just be able to
double-click on the Warhol.jar file to run the program. If that doesn't work,
you can open a DOS window and change to the directory that you saved Warhol.jar
to and type:
java -jar warhol.jar
The output in this window should give you a clue as to what's wrong. If you
still have problems, let me know.
