November 2000

Esprit_de_Michelle.gif (16664 bytes)Added a fabulous new work of art to the Graphics page. I like Esprit de Michelle so much, I’m putting it here too.

There’s also a new version of the “Holly Angel” collage there, along with the precursors to my new work of art. One more thing added to that page is an old abstract painting I did in high school.

By request I also added a link to a really funny web page. I haven’t had a chance to check it out myself, but I am assured that it is hilarious. (I aim to please. Keep those comments coming!)

Fixed the Links page so external sites come up in their own window instead of inside my frames.

ayne loaned me some boomerangs to scan in.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everybody!

Added a cool black-and-white photo as a place holder for Michelle’s personal page off of the Family page.

To the Friends section of the  Photos page, I added some snapshots from “Monkey Show 96″, and a self-portrait from the Tahoe ski trip.

Added a few pieces of art to the Graphics page, including my most recent work, Sleepover, and to the Doctored Photos page, some work that’s not even mine. And can’t believe my luck in finding a rare piece by that noted computer graphics genius, Chris Crosby.

This gave me the idea of creating the email address submissions@brucearmstrong.net so people can send in anything they’d like to see appear here.

Added a short “Monkey Show 96″ clip to the Videos page.

Added the CD Label for “Andrew’s First Mix - 1999″ to the Graphics page.

Newer Update: (11/17/00) - The voting has really taken off and now stands at 50/50.

If I can find the original print, I will rescan it at a higher resolution so I can create Bighead4.jpg to blow the competition away. I will recount the votes however many times it takes until my candidate wins.

The voting now stands at Bighead3.jpg=71% and Bighead2.jpg=29%. I guess I shouldn’t have posted results earlier as that seems to have affected the voting since then, swinging the edge wildly toward Bighead3.

I’d like to thank everyone for your valuable feedback. Your Complaints/Praise/Suggestions/Problem Reports are really appreciated.

I’ve just added a couple more photos of the kids and since someone asked for more photos of Michelle and I, I have added a page of our famous Self-Portraits. Michelle dug around in some old photos and found a bunch of pictures we took of ourselves. I hope you like them, Julie!

Luckily, she also found some old photos of some of the early works of Digital Boomerang Systems. I scanned some in and added them to the Boomerangs page.

I’ve added a very preliminary Holly page to the mostly-empty Family page.

And lastly, I have added a new form on the Contact Us page where you can enter your email address if you want to be kept up-to-date on any changes made to the site. Kind of hokey, but some people are really interested.

!!!!NEWS FLASH!!!!

The photo everyone’s been waiting for has arrived! Well, sort of. I couldn’t find the original Bighead1.jpg that caused such a stir in 1994, but I have used my photo doctoring skills to create a pretty good likeness. Actually, there are two choices and I’m letting you, the public, vote on which one is best. Go here to check them out and vote.

Added the Videos page under the Graphics page. There are some morphing videos and an old Digital Boomerang Systems logo video. Check it out.

I have received complaints about the Boomerang  page being blank. To placate these individuals, I scanned in several boomerangs and finally started on the page. Scanning in the boomerangs was incredibly tough because I had to do it in two or more pieces and cut-and-paste them together. Oh, how I wish I had a digital camera!

I also added a list of links to the bottom of this page for people thinking about setting up their own websites. (Michelle told me that some of her co-workers had asked about it.)

Well… I guess technically its Wednesday, and this is a pretty big change so I’m putting it up here by itself. What’s the big change? If you’ve been here before, you’ve probably already noticed the difference. After some constructive criticism, I got rid of the banner across the top of the page and moved the logos around a bit. The top banner was wasting a bit of space. When I finally viewed the page at 1024×768, I saw that things were a little more cramped than I had intended. Now there is a little more room for content without having to scroll around the page so much.

So… This is the new layout. If you want to compare to the old layout, you can click here to see the old version. Let me know what you think. (I guess I need to test at lower resolutions more often.)
